Kristin, Fabio & Yoda Potenti.

A small family living aboard our Seawind 1600 catamaran, Wanderlust.

We wanted off the hamster wheel. Something different. Meaningful.
An adventure. We decided to sell our home and transition to #boatlife.

You know the drill. Alarm sounds at 5am. Groan and drag yourself out of bed. Workout. Walk the dog. Shower. Dress. Breakfast. Work, at minimum a 9 hour day. Kristin at an advertising agency, Fabio at Cleveland Clinic Florida as the CMO. Close the computer. Make + eat dinner. Walk the dog. Fall asleep at the TV. Rinse and repeat. Days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, months turn into years and before you know it your life has flashed by. This, we did not want.

The Perfect Catamaran.

Fabio conducted an in-depth search for the perfect catamaran. Having owned a monohull (Beneteau Oceanis 473) and a Dragonfly 35 trimaran, we thought a catamaran would be the perfect balance for live aboard life. Realizing a performance catamaran would satisfy our love for sailing and desire for comfort, and given our budget, our search was narrowed to a field of 4 catamaran makes. Ultimately the Seawind 1600 was the best fit for us and we are very happy with our decision.

The Dream Realized.

Our boat was delivered to Miami on July 27th, 2020 and we moved on board September 7th, 2020. Since then we’ve been documenting our transition to boat life as live aboard sailors, sharing our learnings, adventures and delicious meals cooked on board.

The Wonder of a Life Outside the Lines.

We’re sailing to Harbors Unknown, to explore the world’s vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere. Connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how those dishes can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources.

So far we’ve explored the waters of South Florida, Florida Keys, the Bahamas, the US East Coast from Florida up to Maine, down to Panama, and sailed 4,000 NM across the Pacific Ocean to French Polynesia. We hope to inspire people and showcase the possibility of living an alternative lifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment.
