This week we’re sailing our Seawind 1600 catamaran from Matinicus Island south to The Basin in Casco Bay, Maine. A magical salt water lake nestled in a nature preserve that’s part of the Maine Island Trail. A 375-mile water trail connecting over 240 wild islands and mainland sites in Maine.

We found it’s a topic rife with controversy on the commercial and recreational level, so we dug deeper to learn what quahogging is really like today.
