We Sailed to the Marquesas Best Anchorage…Finally!

Most of the anchorages we’ve dropped our hook in the Marquesas have been challenging. Very deep, rocky bottom and crowded. But we have finally found what is probably the best anchorage in this archipelago. Hanatefau Bay, known for its clear waters, near the small village of Hapatoni, reputed to be the friendliest place in the island chain, also known for its craftsmanship. We were looking forward to enjoying this beautiful spot, and taking you along as we learn more about life in this remote paradise. The reason why we sailed 4000 NM and spent 33 days at sea.
