SAILING 1,000 nm UPWIND in a CATAMARAN [part 1]

We had planned to spend cyclone season in the Marquesas, the only truly safe haven in French Polynesia, but due to our rigging replacement we were still in Tahiti at the start of the season and the eastern trade winds had already kicked up. It was going to be a challenge to sail back east upwind amidst squalls but we created a plan and set off for the 1,000 nm journey. Watch now to see what happened!
