Daily Life at the Dock on Our Seawind 1600 Catamaran PLUS a GREAT Find | Harbors Unknown Ep. 20

Boat Life. Adventure, travel, excitement. And also regular, everyday routines, especially while we’re still in Ft. Lauderdale at the dock. But in about 2 and a half months that will all change.

Each day starts with a walk. We say we’re taking Yoda for a walk but she’s really taking us for a walk because if it weren’t for her we wouldn’t go. Thank you Yoda. A chance to move, be outside and observe the world around us.  And time to think; about the upcoming transition, Fabio retiring, us trading the place we’ve called home for so many years for a nomadic life on the sea. All during a pandemic. We thought about waiting but we had already ordered the boat so it was coming. We decided to continue putting one foot in front of the other. Taking the steps to become #fulltimecruisers.

Sell the house, leave my job at an advertising agency, learn to make videos, move on the boat, adjust to smaller living quarters and limited resources, start a YouTube channel and brand, learn the intricacies of sailing this boat, because each one has its own nuances, fix the boat, and make plans for our upcoming departure. There has been so much change. But change is good. It forces us to adapt, learn, and grow. Now we’re ready to spread our wings and explore Harbors Unknown. Those harbors unknown to us.

For now, we’re enjoying where we are, exploring our city and connecting with the people here. We love hanging out in #FATVillage. There are always new murals, and restaurants popping up. Today we’re checking out an Italian restaurant, Heritage, a gem owned by Chef Rino Cerbone. We enjoy a delicious meal and chat with the talented chef about his lifelong experience in restaurants, and inspiration for the first concept in his hospitality brand, Cerbone Hospitality.

Watch today’s video to join us for a day in the life at the dock in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
