We’ve been sailing + living on our Seawind 1600 catamaran for 3 years and wanted to share an honest review of our experience after purchasing a new boat, working through the warranty issues, what we’ve learned, loved, and what we would have done differently.

Sailing is our means of transportation and the boat our platform from which to explore. We are now travelers, not tourists. Witnesses to different cultures, ways of living, eating, working and playing. Attempting to understand what makes the world tick and tock but also trying to gain a deeper comprehension of ourselves and identify what will satisfy that hunger for further exploration.

With all of the essential boat repairs and maintenance completed, we are officially starting our voyage sailing around the world! But Mother Nature has said our first sail will be a relatively short one. Join us for an epic day on the water!

We’re sailing to a remote uninhabited island paradise in the Bahamas, the Berry Islands. Crystal clear waters and white sand beaches all to ourselves. The waters surrounding these islands are VERY shallow so we’re really trying to arrive before dark.

Everywhere we turn we face challenges. Your success is determined by how you respond and how you overcome that adversity, ultimately leading to growth. And boy, are we ever growing lately.

We're currently in Ft. Lauderdale gearing up for living off grid on our Seawind 1600 sailing catamaran. We'll soon be setting off for long term sailing in the Bahamas and Caribbean and are soo looking forward to boat life in the islands. But as you guys know, we love to cook and eat! In this episode we're sharing our favorite cooking tools and techniques, sort of our galley survival kit, lol.

This week we're sailing our catamaran under the Newport bridge for the last time for the foreseeable future on to Annapolis via New York City. Taking with us sweet memories of friends, new and old, and experiences we’ll treasure for a lifetime.

We’re leaving the bucolic waters of The Basin in Casco Bay, sailing our Seawind 1600 catamaran ultimately to Annapolis where we’ll have some boat work done to get Wanderlust ready for the Annapolis Sailboat Show. We're planning to make a number of stops along the way because we’re still waiting for our new autopilot RAM which we hope will be delivered to Newport, Rhode Island.

This week we continue exploring Nantucket Island, off the coast of Massachusetts, then sail our Seawind 1600 catamaran 60 nautical miles back to Rhode Island for some boat work in not the greatest of conditions. We visit Bartlett’s Farm, which has been on the island for over two hundred years, and grows boat loads of fruits and vegetables for the island’s residents. We loved chatting with Keegan about his family’s business.

We left the mooring in Jamestown planning to sail our Seawind 1600 catamaran 60 nautical miles to Nantucket. Little did we know Newport wasn’t quite ready to see us go. The fog blanketed the bay so densely we could barely see in front of the boat. So we turned around and gave it a go the next day.
